Kalmar Super Gloria reachstackers to form key part of logistics chain at CS Wind Vietnam

CARGOTEC CORPORATION, TRADE PRESS RELEASE, 4 DECEMBER 2019 AT 10 AM (EET)

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, is to supply CS Wind Vietnam Co., Ltd (CS Wind Vietnam) with two Super Gloria reachstackers, each with a lifting capacity of 100 tons and a wide range of custom modifications. The order was booked in Cargotec's 2019 Q4 order intake, with delivery of the machines scheduled for Q2 of 2020.

CS Wind Group is the largest manufacturer of wind tower sections, with factories in Vietnam, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Canada and Europe. The CS Wind Vietnam factory, located in Vung Tau Province, manufactures approximately 900 tower sections each year.

The Kalmar Super Gloria reachstackers delivered to CS Wind Vietnam will be transporting wind tower sections weighing up to 200 tons as part of the company’s logistics process. The machines will enable CS Wind to safely handle extreme loads and ensure accurate manoeuvring in tight spaces.

The Kalmar Super Gloria is the largest reachstacker in the Kalmar product range. It is suitable for handling heavy and challenging loads such as steel and other metals, wind turbines and wind tower components and precast concrete sections.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tri, Production Division Manager, CS Wind Vietnam: “We are delighted to partner with Kalmar and are eagerly awaiting delivery of the new Kalmar Super Gloria reachstackers, which will be an essential part of the logistics operations at our factory. One of the main reasons we chose Kalmar was that we were very impressed with the professional service quality and local after-sales support that Kalmar, together with their local partner, is able to provide us.”

Elvina Chua, Vice President, South & South East Asia, Kalmar: “This order represents a milestone for us as these are not only the first ever Kalmar Super Gloria reachstackers to be delivered to the Vietnamese market, but also among the first ones in the APAC region overall. The Super Gloria is a remarkable achievement of engineering excellence and a great example of what Kalmar can deliver to customers that have highly specialised and challenging lifting needs.”

Spare parts for the new machines will be handled by Kalmar’s local partner UNICO VINA. Parts will be stocked in the UNICO VINA warehouse in Ho Chi Minh City, to enable repair and replacement to be performed within 24 hours as required. A service technician will be available on site within two to three hours in the event of a service request from the customer.
