    Lars Jensen, CEO & Partner at SeaIntelligence Consulting. Mr. Jensen’s keynote will address the fundamental changes we will see out to 2025. Technology will enable the change, but business models and processes will drive the change resulting significant shift in the competitive liner shipping landscape. Lars Jensen is CEO and Partner of SeaIntelligence Consulting, which is focused on providing expert assistance in strategic decision making, analysis, process improvement and revenue management in the container shipping sector. Mr. Jensen is also the CEO and founder of CyberKeel focusing on cybersecurity in the maritime industry, co-founder of LinerGame providing training and teambuilding in the liner shipping industry, co-founder of LinerGrid providing advanced tools to optimize network design for container carriers and founder of the publishing house Vespucci Maritime Publishing.

Keynote presentation on

  • Experiences on terminal automation
    Alec Colvin, Director, Belfast Container Terminal Alec Colvin will discuss the reasons, challenges and experiences of Dublin Ferryport Terminals (DFT) entering the terminal automation arena. Mr. Colvin has 30 years of working experience in various roles in port environment. He has been with the Irish Continental Group (ICG) since 1999, and holds a Management Diploma and BA (hons.). DFT is part of the ICG, and it operates the most modern container terminal at Dublin Port. The terminal handles approximately 325,000 TEUs each year and is anticipating significant growth of around 20 per cent over the next five years.

Travel and accommodation

Everyone is responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements and expenses. If you would like to utilize the hotel rooms booked by Kalmar, please inform us (do not contact the hotel directly). The price for the room is 107 euros per night (1person) and 127 euros (2 persons). Closest airports are Tampere–Pirkkala Airport (13km from city centre) and Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (178km from city centre). See hotel website for more info on hotel location.

Tampere has a borderline humid continental climate/subarctic climate. The weather is rather cool in September with the average being 13°C (11/16°C). Rain is a possibility with the average total monthly rain fall in September being 64mm.
